About the Watermark Agency
Mark Tauber is the Founder and President of the Watermark Agency.
He led the HarperCollins, Inc. imprints Harper San Francisco and Harper One as SVP & Publisher for 13 years and was the Founder and Managing Director of Chronicle Books, Prism imprint and the Chronicle Audio division for three years.
He has published more than 125 New York Times and National/International Bestsellers and created multiple books that have gone on to define their categories and become backlist pacesetters.
He was a co-founder of both Beliefnet, Inc. (acquired by NewsCorp) and EveryDay Health, Inc. (acquired by J2 Global). He began his career working the cash register at two bookshops and carried on with it working in the marketing and publicity departments at Oxford University Press and HarperCollins. He has been inducted into the Books for a Better Life Hall of Fame. He is a reader, father and open water ocean swimmer who lives and works in San Francisco.

Lynn Grady is a seasoned publishing leader with a track record of shaping bestsellers. She has held top positions across the industry, including Group Publisher at Chronicle Books/Princeton Architectural Press, SVP and Deputy Publisher at William Morrow, and Publisher of Dey Street Books. Over the years, she has led marketing and publicity campaigns for numerous #1 New York Times bestsellers across both fiction and nonfiction.
Driven by curiosity and a love of storytelling in all forms, Lynn’s interests have spanned a wide spectrum—from acquiring books to working in children’s publishing as the Disney Brand Manager at Golden Books. She has a deep appreciation for every category and genre and is always eager to champion bold new voices and unexpected ideas in both fiction and nonfiction.
Based in New York City, Lynn holds an M.A. in American Studies from Columbia University. When she’s not reading or brainstorming with her authors, you can find her on the tennis court or out with her dog.

Pete Mulvihill has been the co-owner of Green Apple Books, a family of independent bookstores in San Francisco, for over 30 years. He has served on the boards of the Northern California Independent Booksellers Association (now CALIBA) and the American Booksellers Association.
Throughout his career as a bookseller, he's strived to bring attention to small press, foreign and self-published books. He often champions small budget titles into backlist standards. He once served on the Indies Next selection panel and actively participates in the larger publishing community of authors, editors, and booksellers.
He has BA in English with a Black Studies minor from Colorado College and an MA in Writing from the University of San Francisco, where he taught writing for several years.
Pete's spouse is an editor and writer, so he is familiar with all aspects of the publishing business. Pete lives near the beach in San Francisco and swims and rows often in the open water.

Lily McMahon started her career as a Publications Intern at the United Nations before spending several years at Bloomsbury Publishing as an Assistant Editor, where she commissioned new titles for the religious studies list and managed the editorial process from proposal to publication.
She has an MSc in Philosophy from the London School of Economics, and she is passionate about nonfiction books that address big-picture questions about morality and wellbeing as well as contemporary social, political and economic issues.
After years spent living in New York and London, she is now based in her native San Francisco. In her spare time, she likes to write, do yoga, cook and travel.
